Africa is a good place for the Felt Felbermayr team: Today, after numerous second places, Wels sprint rocket Patryk Stosz finally managed to score his first win of the season. The Pole took the win on the first stage of the Tour of Mauritius 2024 (UCI 2.2). The 29-year-old was perfectly positioned by his teammates on the 152.9-kilometer section with start and finish in Beau Plan and secured the much-celebrated victory in the sprint after 3:34:26 hours. Teammate Jakob Purtscheller secured fifth place at the same time and thus remains the best U23 rider in the tour. In the overall classification, Piotr Brozyna (11th place today) is still in third place as the best Wels rider, just two seconds behind the overall leader Marc Olivier Pritzen from South Africa (Team Honeycomb Pro Cycling). Jakob Purtscheller is already in fourth place here, 16 seconds behind.

The race was extremely hectic from the start, and around 30 kilometers from the finish, the Wels team decided to take control of the race and controlled the race at the front. A total of 11 riders were able to pull away a little on the descent towards the end of the stage and decided the race between themselves. Patryk Stosz was put in the best position by Felix Ritzinger and took the day's victory. The team from the trade fair city also continues to lead in the team rankings. "I am really happy about my first victory for the Wels team. After several second places, it was only a matter of time before I was at the top of the podium," said Patryk Stosz happily at the finish.
